Senior Data Scientist, Product Analytics – Credit Card
Join SoFi as a Senior Data Scientist on our Pricing team in the Lending organization, focusing on the Credit Card business.
Base Pay Range $128,000 /yr – $240,000 /yr
Responsibilities
Design and execute A/B tests and experiments to evaluate pricing, offers, and messaging impacts on acquisition, usage, credit risk, and profitability.
Use advanced analytics to monitor credit card performance and identify pricing optimization opportunities such as APR structures, fees, and offers.
Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders – Risk, Business, Finance, Marketing, Engineering, and Product – to design, test, and launch pricing initiatives.
Conduct competitive benchmarking and market research on credit‑card pricing trends, promotional offers, and customer preferences.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and drive data‑backed improvements.
Build and enhance analytical models – elasticity, profitability, sensitivity, and optimization – to inform pricing decisions.
Lead pricing and product development initiatives, mentor team members, and communicate with senior leadership.
Drive continuous product iterations and improvements based on feedback, usage data, and performance metrics.
Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. M.B.A. preferred.
5+ years of experience in the credit‑card industry in analytics, business strategy, pricing, or a related role.
Strong understanding of credit‑card PnL drivers.
Proven track record of end‑to‑end experience in model development, testing, implementation, and performance tracking in financial services.
Knowledge of statistical and econometric modeling methods for significance testing and causal inference.
Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, and proficiency in Tableau.
Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts simply.
Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
Exceptional problem‑solving skills.
Nice to Have
Experience building pricing models and strategies.
Experience working with product and/or engineering teams.
