Overview Provide independent advanced level nurse practitioner clinical expertise to patients and their families on an ongoing basis. Manage chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and specialty protocols (e.g., chemotherapy) as defined by standardized procedures or independently based on licensure. Perform non-invasive or invasive procedures, surgical procedures, and operative first assist per approved standardized procedures. Act as an expert resource person for health care providers including nurses, residents, and ancillary staff.

Qualifications

Recent clinical rotation completed in hospital medicine or ICU as part of the Nurse Practitioner program

AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR

AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification within 7 days of hire

National NP board certification in aligned specialty within 3 months of hire

Master's degree, DNP, or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing

Valid California RN and Nurse Practitioner license without restrictions

California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License within 3 months of hire

DEA Certificate within 3 months of hire

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Judgment skills to effectively meet the needs of patients

Self-direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role

Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provider

Preferred Qualifications

Two years or greater RN experience on medsurg or ICU

One year or greater experience as a nurse practitioner in the adult inpatient setting or completion of an accredited APP Fellowship Program in an aligned specialty
