Workforce Solutions South Plains is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive staffing and workforce solutions across a 15-county region. We are one of 28 Workforce Development Boards in Texas, funded by the U.S. Department of Labor through the Texas Workforce Commission. Our Board, made up of local employers, community organizations, and educational entities, aims to create employer-driven employment and training strategies to enhance the work skills of South Plains workers. We are committed to community involvement and building partnerships with local economic development organizations, educational, legislative, and business leaders. Role Description This full-time role for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) is an on-site position located in Lubbock, TX. The COO will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, including strategic planning, business operations, and financial management. The role includes developing and implementing business strategies, managing budgets, and ensuring operational efficiency aligned with the organization’s goals. The COO will also work closely with the Board of Directors, local economic partners, and community leaders to drive the organization’s mission and objectives.
Qualifications
Experience in Business Planning and Operations Management
Strong Analytical Skills
Knowledge in Finance and Budgeting
Excellent leadership and organizational skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field, Master’s Degree preferred
Experience in the nonprofit sector is a plus
