The Azure Cloud Engineer is responsible for architecting, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure. This leadership role is critical to ensuring scalable, secure, and high‑performing cloud infrastructure that aligns with business goals.
Responsibilities
Scalable Cloud Architecture & Deployment
Design and implement Azure‑native infrastructure solutions
Experience with Azure Data Services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage necessary for building high‑scale data solutions
Hands‑on experience with ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data pipelines
Migrate legacy business process and workloads to Azure with minimal disruption
Optimize cloud architecture for performance, scalability, and cost
Security & Compliance
Implement Azure security best practices (RBAC, Key Vault, Defender)
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., CCPA, GDPR)
Monitor and remediate vulnerabilities using Azure Security Center
Automation & DevOps
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
Automate infrastructure provisioning with ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform
Integrate monitoring and logging using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
Operations & Support
Implement and manage cost‑control strategies using Azure Advisor, Reserved Instances, and budget alerts
Monitor and tune cloud performance across compute, storage, and networking resources
Troubleshoot performance issues and outages
Leadership & Strategy
Work closely with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders
Advise on cloud strategy, governance, and cost optimization
Conduct capacity planning and usage forecasting to support business growth
Stay current with Azure innovations and recommend adoption where appropriate
Qualifications
The Azure Cloud Engineer must demonstrate a solid grasp of modern Azure based data modeling, data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines and have direct experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, and Power BI.
Strong soft skills such as problem‑solving and communication, along with holding a relevant Microsoft Azure certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are also key.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
3+ years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure
