The GEU‑Q Student Affairs team seeks energetic and enthusiastic individuals committed to fostering a dynamic community. These seasonal‑term positions (August 2026–June 2028) are term appointments for two years.
Positions and Key Activities
Student Affairs Coordinator – Spirit
Enhance and coordinate GU‑Q traditions (Hoya Welcome Week, Georgetown Day, International Ball, etc.).
Strengthen athletics and recreational programs to encourage school pride and inclusive participation.
Collaborate with students and campus partners to refresh existing activities and develop new approaches.
Identify ways to increase student involvement in campus traditions.
Maintain a spirited community culture and spotlight student achievements.
Serve as a visible presence at events, providing logistical support and attending evening and weekend events as needed.
Student Affairs Coordinator – Leadership
Support clubs, student government, the Georgetown Leadership Track, the Georgetown Ambassadors Program, and athletics to make programs more impactful and inclusive.
Refine leadership programming to help students practice decision‑making, teamwork, and problem‑solving.
Collaborate with students to adapt existing programs to evolving interests and needs.
Promote pathways for students to translate leadership experiences into skills for academic and professional settings.
Track and celebrate leadership achievements through recognition programs.
Provide logistical support and attend evening and weekend events as needed.
Student Affairs Coordinator – Connectedness
Strengthen initiatives that connect local, Qatari, and international students.
Enhance programs such as ESCAPE retreats, International Orientation, First‑Year Introduction, and Student Affairs Iftars.
Develop activities that encourage dialogue and collaboration across cultural backgrounds.
Collaborate with student leaders to keep programs relevant and impactful.
Foster spaces where students feel belonging and are encouraged to participate in university life.
Maintain ongoing relationships with student groups to respond to emerging needs.
Actively seek ways to bridge cultural and social divides.
Provide logistical support and attend evening and weekend events as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree.
Recent Georgetown University DC graduates preferred (ideally within 2 years of graduation).
Leadership experience.
Mentorship, teaching or tutoring experience preferred.
Understanding of Georgetown University’s vision and mission for students.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
Demonstrated event‑planning and organization skills.
Ability to learn new policies and procedures, meet deadlines, and work under time pressure.
Proficiency in social media platforms (X, Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
Familiarity with PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Photoshop and/or InDesign preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office and Google Apps.
Ability to work various shifts and readiness to participate in evening and weekend events.
