Responsibilities
Drive the transformation process for one of three business segments: Commercial (fully insured large group, individual exchange, small-group, self‑funded, and ancillary product lines), Medicare, or State Sponsored Programs (Medicaid, HARP and CHP). Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and multi‑year roadmaps to maximize value and ensure alignment with business strategy. Estimate and project ROI for specific projects.
Collaborate with Director, Reporting & Insights – Product Transformation and the business to identify and measure ROI for projects, determine the future course of transformation projects based on those metrics, and prepare information for senior management as actionable recommendations.
Identify cross‑functional friction points, lead special initiatives and deliver clarity and momentum for the highest priority business needs. Serve as a bridge between Finance/Actuarial and the department(s).
Lead initiatives that improve growth, retention, member experience and operational performance.
Partner closely with cross‑functional leaders to identify opportunities, structure solutions and enable scalable growth. Work across lines of business and supporting functions to drive short‑cycle and high‑impact outcomes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, HealthCare Administration, or related field.
Master’s degree (MBA) preferred.
Project Management certification preferred.
Relevant Experience, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
10 – 12+ years of progressive experience in product management, program management, or a related field, preferably in a health care environment.
Experience working in dynamic, entrepreneurial, ambiguous settings – proven systems‑based, analytical thinker with demonstrated success designing, developing and implementing new structures/systems to reduce ambiguity.
Deep understanding of group insurance dynamics, self‑funded market, ASO contracts, distribution channels and benefit design, Medicare/Medicaid products, bid‑process, sales/marketing strategy.
Familiarity with broker/GA distribution and employer group onboarding.
Proven track record of successfully overseeing multiple large (company/divisional) projects.
Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple priorities/deadlines.
Ability to manage in a matrix environment, without direct management control, by influencing and persuading.
Experience managing people and processes; strong collaboration and influencing skills.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure engagement and successful delivery of change.
Healthcare or Product Experience across range of products and segments.
Experience with/knowledge of: Finance, Actuarial, or Underwriting.
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal) with all types/levels of audience.
Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
Competence/knowledge of reporting tools / programming languages (SAS, R, Python).
Reporting Tooling (Power BI, Tableau).
