Overview As a Tax Director at SIXT, you will lead the company’s tax strategy, compliance, and reporting across federal, state, and international jurisdictions. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance, you will ensure compliance with ASC 740 and IFRS standards, oversee audits, and guide the organization in navigating complex tax matters. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional who thrives in a fast‑paced global environment and is passionate about developing talent and driving efficiency and compliance in all aspects of taxation.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provisions in compliance with ASC 740 and IFRS, including disclosures, foreign provisions, deferred taxes, and uncertain tax positions.

Oversee and manage federal, state, and international tax audits, filings, and reconciliations, while identifying and mitigating tax risks across all jurisdictions.

Collaborate with external consultants on transfer pricing analysis and documentation, and ensure indirect tax compliance including sales, use, property, and motor vehicle rental taxes.

Conduct complex tax research and analysis, implementing findings and advising leadership, business units, and external stakeholders on compliance and strategy.

Lead ad hoc analyses and special projects, coordinating efforts across internal teams and external advisors to support business operations and growth.

Develop, mentor, and guide members of the North American tax team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or Master’s in Taxation strongly preferred. 6+ years of progressive tax experience, including federal, state, and international income tax.

Technical Expertise

– Strong knowledge of ASC 740, IFRS, and corporate tax compliance; experience in transfer pricing, indirect tax, and international taxation.

Analytical & Problem‑Solving Skills

– Evaluate complex tax issues, propose solutions, and communicate effectively with leadership and external advisors.

Leadership & Collaboration

– Experienced leader who develops teams, fosters collaboration, and builds trusted relationships across departments and geographies.

Attention to Detail & Accuracy

– Strong organizational skills, ensuring precision in tax reporting, compliance, and financial disclosures.

Systems Knowledge

– Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); working knowledge of tax and accounting systems; experience with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.
