Summary Description

Primary responsibility is to provide day-to-day management of the packaging line, warehouse and distribution operations at the brewery, including managing union staff, ordering materials, inventory accuracy, production support and world class sanitation.

Compensation

USD $80,000 - $95,000 annually depending on experience

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

Supports the Company’s Mission and Made True values. Tracks daily performance metrics to drive continuous improvement. Ensures Standard Operating Procedures are followed and implements modifications as necessary. Develops and implements a staffing schedule to meet the production, warehousing and shipping needs. Coordinates product movement, inventory counts and product rotation, including to/from offsite warehousing. Oversees finished goods inventories and the loading of canned, bottled and draught product, and ensures accuracy of loads and pick sheets. Manages the inventory of packaging supplies, bottle and chemicals to ensure that the packaging operation runs without interruption. Works with Engineering in evaluating and implementing packaging refinements and new package development. Works closely with the Manager, Brewing and Quality on capacity and production planning. Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment by ensuring that safety equipment is properly utilized and that the Packaging and Warehouse departments are in compliance with all safety programs. Proactively works with the Maintenance department to coordinate needed repairs, scheduled maintenance, and upgrades. Hires, trains and develops Packaging and Warehouse staff. Conducts performance assessments and implements recognition, training or corrective action as needed.

Minimum Qualification

Education/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Required Experience

Minimum 5 years packaging/distribution experience with a CPG company, preferably in the beer/malt beverage industry. Extensive working knowledge of pressurized tanks, hazardous chemicals and sanitation procedures. Minimum of 2 years of management/leadership experience in a production/distribution environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Train, lead and supervise staff. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Tilray's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Knowledge and Skills

Packaging and engineering knowledge. Planning and organizing. Analytical data collection.

Work Environment

This position may include frequent interruptions, working alone, evening work and working long hours during peak periods.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, hear and see frequently for extended periods of time. Continuous mental and visual attention; the work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and the continual work using a computer. Lifting, carrying and reaching 5 lbs and less-frequently; 5-50 lbs-occasionally.
