Overview Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) offers a forward‑looking educational environment. Revenue Cycle Operations (RCO) supports all aspects of the dental school’s revenue cycle including patient financial services, scheduling, insurance coordination, claims support, and accounts‑reconciliation through collections. This position reports directly to the Associate Director, Revenue Cycle Operations and works closely with the School Clinics and postgraduate specialty clinics.

What You’ll Do

Oversee all patient‑facing revenue cycle activities, maximizing cost‑effective collections in compliance with federal, state, and payer requirements.

Provide leadership, performance management, and financial oversight for front‑desk support roles and evaluate the patient front‑desk experience.

Administer daily front‑desk operations for the Dental School, ensuring policies and guidelines are adhered to and continuously improve internal processes to enhance the patient journey.

Manage a team that may include Patient Financial Coordinators, Leads, Registration Coordinators, and front‑desk support positions.

Maintain a deadline‑driven, accurate, detail‑focused work environment, promoting open communication and collaboration.

Play a critical role in the Dental School’s revenue cycle management, directly impacting clinic financial and claims outcomes.

Basic Requirements

Completion of a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree (or high school/GED) and 3+ years of compliant dental/medical financial coordination experience.

Exceptional emotional intelligence, customer‑service focus, excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

Knowledge of pre‑claims requirements, insurance processes, billing compliance, and insurance guidelines.

Proficiency in prior authorizations, insurance verification, and timely communication to internal team members and patients.

Dental coder certification (CDC) required, or within 1 year of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Certified Dental Coder (CDC) with 4–6 years of dental/medical insurance verification and 3+ years of supervisory experience in a fast‑paced setting.

Expert knowledge of Medicare, MassHealth, and commercial insurance pre‑claims requirements.

Expert knowledge of AXIUm software and familiarity with ADA, CPT, and ICD‑10 codes.

Schedule 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM & Night Clinic coverage 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM.

Pay Range Minimum $65,900.00 – Midpoint $82,300.00 – Maximum $98,800.00.
