Special Police Officer Part Time

Pay Range Base pay: $37,336.00 / yr – $54,204.80 / yr.

Responsibilities

Patrol hospital and surrounding grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and intruders.

Monitor conduct of visitors and question unauthorized persons when necessary.

Report occurrences such as violence, disorderly conduct, theft, etc. Interact with MPD as required.

Report safety concerns, fire hazards and protective service violations.

Escort staff and visitors to parking garage and other hospital areas on request.

Enforce established hospital/departmental policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, environmental and infection control, safety, etc.

Proficiently operate CCTV, Card Access and other security systems.

Staff the Command Center and proficiently operate telephone system.

Staff the reception desk and assist visitors in a professional manner.

Attend QBS/Safety‑Care training.

Respond and assist with patients displaying aggressive behavior.

Respond to all internal emergency codes.

Required Licenses & Certifications

Special Police Officer Commission 60 Days (Required)

Eligible for Security Officer Upon Hire

Other Job Duties

May serve as the Lead Officer in the absence of the Shift Supervisor.

May perform other duties in addition to those outlined in this job description.
