Position Title: CNC Programmer Location: Santa Cruz, CA Salary: $30.00 - $40.00 Hourly Employment Type: Full Time
Responsibilities
Develop and write CNC programs involving G‑code and other programming languages.
Interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to determine machining requirements, including dimensions, tooling, and feed rates.
Set up and operate CNC machines, improving efficiency and accuracy by adjusting settings, selecting tools, and optimizing feed rates.
Conduct test runs and make adjustments to ensure parts meet quality and precision standards.
Identify and resolve problems that may arise during the manufacturing process.
Work closely with engineers, machinists, and other production personnel to ensure successful manufacturing.
Keep detailed records of machining processes, program changes, and maintenance activities.
Skills
Experience programming 3‑ and 5‑axis CNC mills.
Proficiency interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Knowledge of CNC programming languages (G‑code) and software.
Working knowledge of SolidWorks and HSMworks software.
Proficiency in CAD and CAM software.
Strong mathematical skills, including trigonometry and geometry.
Ability to identify and resolve issues that may arise during the manufacturing process.
Ability to work accurately and precisely.
Ability to effectively communicate with other team members.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Experience working with various metals (steel, titanium, niobium).
Excellent communication skills.
Completion of a technical or associate degree program a plus.
Experience programming 3‑ and 5‑axis CNC mills.
