Job Summary We are looking for an Assistant Controller who can support the Controller and Finance Team’s goals. This person must be a problem solver, highly organized and a team player. The Assistant Controller is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial and accounting functions of the company and supervising the small team to ensure goals are met. In addition, the individual in this position may provide reporting support to the Sales, Operations and Finance Teams. This position reports directly to the Controller.

Responsibilities

Assist with preparation of month-end financial reporting.

Period end close responsibilities including preparation of account reconciliations, accruals and analysis of actual results versus budget/forecast.

Supervise A/R, A/P and inventory accounting functions, including journal entries; reconciliations; monthly/quarterly close; and direct regular reviews of key financial metrics with the accounting team.

Assist with preparation of annual budgets.

Provide financial support to key stakeholders.

Run physical inventory cycle counts.

Provide Sarbanes-Oxley reporting and compliance support.

Ad hoc financial reporting, modeling and special projects as required.

Support the 10-Q and 10-K reporting cycles.

Execute monthly/quarterly corporate reporting and presentations as needed.

Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Assist with development and maintenance of financial reporting systems.

Manage, coach, supervise day-to-day tasks and develop accounting staff.

Ad-hoc projects as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA required.

Big 4 experience a plus.

Minimum of 7-12 years of experience in a comparable finance and accounting position.

Food, beverage manufacturing and consumer packaged good experience preferred.

Inventory management experience a plus.

A successful history of developing and managing teams.

Advanced skill level for all Microsoft products.

Experience in NetSuite preferred.
