Organizational Summary Central HR consists of Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Classification & Compensation, Employee & Labor Relations, Continuous Process Improvement, HRIS, HR Business Partners, Talent & Learning Management. The University is executing a HR transformation strategy.
Primary Purpose
The Academic Sr. HR Business Partner plans, assigns, and supervises work within the academic unit, leading the HRBP Is and HRBP IIs and implementing the CHR strategic plan.
Responsibilities
Develop thorough knowledge of assigned academic units, understanding culture, needs, and development opportunities.
Work independently and collaboratively to provide broad range of services and data‑driven, impactful solutions.
Partner with leadership to develop talent strategies supporting culture and continuous employee development.
Handle complex employee relations issues and refer high‑risk issues as needed; support ethics and compliance investigations.
Lead and supervise a team of HRBP Is and HRBP IIs; manage workflow.
Monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the academic HR pod; provide recommendations.
Assess training and development needs; manage performance management processes for all assigned employees, strategize with leadership.
Participate in special projects to promote, support, and expand strategic roles and partnerships.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years related experience, or Master’s degree and 4 years HR experience.
Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
Ability to foster teamwork, drive strategic direction, problem‑solve, and communicate orally and written.
Build collaborative relationships; leadership skills.
Working Conditions
Environment: Typical indoor environment.
Physical: Standing, sitting, typing; lift up to 20 lbs.
Travel: Ability to travel to other USF campuses or locations as requested.
