About the Role
We’re (our client is) seeking a Lead Software Engineer to serve as the technical anchor for our Internal Analytics platform— the enterprise’s single source of truth for data and reporting. This role blends hands‑on engineering with leadership across multiple data and software domains, including Databricks, ADF, SQL, ETL, data/delta lake architecture, medallion architecture, DevOps, and emerging data technologies.
As a technical lead, you’ll guide the design, development, and delivery of data solutions that support self‑service analytics and enterprise‑scale reporting, ensuring performance, accuracy, and reliability across systems.
Responsibilities
Lead Development Efforts : Design, build, and enhance enterprise‑scale data and software solutions.
Technical Leadership : Act as a technical anchor across Databricks, SQL, ADF, ETL, and data modeling technologies.
Agile Collaboration : Participate in requirements gathering, architecture discussions, and Agile ceremonies to ensure consistent sprint delivery.
Quality & Efficiency : Conduct code reviews, enforce standards, and drive CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code practices.
Mentorship & Cross‑Functional Work : Mentor engineers and collaborate across teams to maintain performance and integrity of analytics systems.
Requirements
Extensive Experience & Leadership : 8+ years in software development with strong technical leadership and Agile team collaboration.
Azure & Data Engineering Expertise : Deep knowledge of Azure tools (Databricks, ADF, Key Vault, ASQL, ADLS Gen2) and ETL tools like SSIS and Azure Data Factory.
Advanced Data Skills : Proficient in SQL, Python, PySpark, and building scalable data ingestion/curation pipelines; strong grasp of data lake/delta lake and medallion architectures.
Big Data & DevOps Proficiency : Experience with large‑scale data, CI/CD pipelines, IaC tools (Terraform/Pulumi), and exposure to Spark, Hadoop, Kafka.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration : Skilled in API integration, data modeling, reporting tools (Power BI/Tableau), and .NET knowledge for team synergy.
