Hybrid (2–3 days onsite per week) Position Overview

We are seeking a

highly skilled Azure Data Engineer

to join a leading utility provider in New York, NY. This long-term contract role offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment while contributing to cutting-edge data solutions that drive analytics, business intelligence, and enterprise-wide decision-making. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on expertise with

Azure cloud services, ETL pipelines, Databricks, and SQL , combined with a strong background in data security, governance, and performance optimization. Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain

data solutions

using Azure cloud services. Develop and optimize

ETL processes and data pipelines

to ensure scalability and efficiency. Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all platforms. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable

data architecture

supporting BI and advanced analytics. Create

reports and dashboards

using Power BI Report Server. Troubleshoot data‑related issues and provide recommendations for improvement. Required Technical Skills

Strong ability to

interpret, modify, and write SQL queries and scripts . Hands‑on experience as an

Azure Data Engineer

with:

Power BI Report Server

Proficiency in

Python

for data manipulation and automation. Desired Technical Skills

3+ years of experience creating

stored procedures in SQL . Knowledge of

.NET C#

for integration and development tasks. Required Qualifications

Proven experience with

Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, and Power BI . Ability to design, build, and maintain

ETL pipelines , manage

data lakes , and develop

reports/visualizations . Strong SQL skills are mandatory; .NET C# is a strong plus. Strong understanding of

security protocols

on Azure (IAM, encryption, network security, secure data communication, serverless security). Data Governance Hands‑on experience implementing

data governance frameworks

including ownership models, data quality, compliance, and privacy measures. Knowledge of

data cataloging, lineage, and metadata management . Certifications Azure certifications such as

Azure Security Engineer Associate

or

Azure Solutions Architect Expert
