Automation Systems Engineer Job Title: Automation Systems Engineer

Base Pay Range: $70,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

Design and build advanced automation systems to enhance operational efficiency.

Define system requirements and architecture in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Select appropriate technologies and platforms for scalable, reliable solutions.

Integrate automation solutions into existing infrastructure and workflows.

Ensure seamless interoperability between various hardware and software systems.

Coordinate with IT and operations to align implementations with business objectives.

Develop and optimize automation code and algorithms.

Program control systems including PLCs, SCADA, and DCS.

Create user interfaces and dashboards for system monitoring and control.

Plan and execute comprehensive system testing to ensure optimal performance.

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software integration issues.

Maintain detailed technical documentation, including system designs and configuration changes.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Provide ongoing technical support and system maintenance.

Train users and technical staff on operation and troubleshooting procedures.

Implement system updates and continuous improvements as required.

Lead automation projects from planning through execution and delivery.

Develop and manage project timelines, resources, and stakeholder communications.

Identify and resolve project issues to ensure timely completion.

Analyze system performance and recommend improvements.

Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in automation, control systems, and industrial innovation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience in automation system design and implementation.

Familiarity with industrial control systems and communication protocols.

Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C++, and ladder logic.

Experience with automation platforms (e.g., PLC, SCADA, DCS).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Proficient in creating technical documentation and communicating technical concepts.

Ability to work independently and in team environments.

Understanding of industrial network architecture and cybersecurity principles.

Willingness to travel and adapt to various work settings as needed.

Industry experience in aerospace, automotive, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing (preferred).

Knowledge of advanced technologies including IoT, machine learning, or robotics (preferred).
