Overview
The UWH of Texas Laboratory has a state of the art CAP‑accredited lab in the Houston area that is expanding its test menu to include GYN Pathology. The laboratory was established in 2020 and serves more than 200 OB/GYN providers across Texas. It has been exclusively performing molecular microbiology under the direction of a GYN Pathology Fellowship‑Trained Pathologist. There are no frozen sections or call responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Sign‑out of office based GYN and breast biopsies and/or liquid‑based GYN cytology
Interact with multiple OB/GYN providers to communicate cancer diagnosis and answer other pertinent inquiries
Participate in PT & QA programs
Technical Supervisor over molecular microbiology if qualified
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
MD/DO with AP or AP/CP board certification
State of Texas licensure or eligibility for licensure
GYN Pathology expertise; GYN fellowship strongly preferred
Cyto‑pathology fellowship – certification is a plus
Ability to qualify as the technical supervisor over molecular microbiology is preferred
Excellent communication skills / professional presence with ability to lead and drive change
