Ports and Marine Senior Lead Engineer/Project Manager WSP is searching for a senior lead engineer/project manager in the Ports and Marine group. The role offers the opportunity to work in multiple U.S. locations including Raleigh, Miami, Houston, San Diego, and Irvine.

Overview WSP Maritime is a leading waterfront and marine design group with a strong culture of collaboration. The position involves independent design, analysis, and project leadership for port, Navy, and terminal operator projects.

Responsibilities

Lead structural analysis and design for marine and upland components.

Supervise berthing and mooring analyses.

Develop plans, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates for port and Navy projects.

Apply maritime codes and references such as UFC, PIANC, and ASCE-61.

Prepare basis of design, design calculations, technical reports, and alternatives analysis.

Perform QA/QC reviews and attend client meetings and site visits.

Mentor junior port and maritime engineers.

Demonstrate responsible and ethical decision-making in accordance with WSP’s Code of Conduct.

Execute additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of experience in analysis and design of port structures.

Professional Engineer license in a recognized jurisdiction.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Experience with medium to large scale port/maritime/Navy structures and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates.

Active involvement in national professional practice organizations.

Hands‑on design experience with SAP2000, OPTIMOOR, L‑PILE, and SLIDE.
