Salary Range:
$105,628-$161,375 The Senior Manager – Ocean Freight Operations, US is responsible for managing all Ocean Freight Forwarding Operational activities across the USA branch network. The core responsibilities include managing and standardizing all operational processes and procedures, optimizing service quality and customer satisfaction, measuring workforce productivity, and overseeing all operational systems used by the ocean freight organization. The role also includes maximizing the use of CargoWise 1 functionality and streamlining and automating the operation function where possible. The position will also look for innovative products within the industry not currently utilized by Yusen.
Responsibilities
Ensure standardized operational processes are followed across all US ocean freight operations to optimize productivity.
Act as an escalation point and subject matter expert for all ocean import and export operational matters in YUNAS as required by the branch network and IFF management.
Manage the usage and standardization of our operational system CargoWise. Streamline CW1 activity while working with the F1 team.
Develop and implement operational SOPs that are consistent and standardized across the branch network.
Review the existing branch ocean freight operations and make recommendations on the most efficient operational setup in conjunction with local branch management.
Monitor and establish quality procedures and KPIs, including working with branches to identify areas of improvement.
Support operational requirements for key Industry Verticals as identified by our customers and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an equivalent Ocean Freight Management role with a multinational freight forwarding company.
High proficiency with CargoWise required. Minimum 5 years operational experience in CargoWise needed.
Minimum 7 years’ experience required in ocean import and ocean export operations.
DG certification preferred.
Solid knowledge of international freight forwarding and INCOTERMS.
Excellent communicative skills both spoken and written.
Strong interpersonal management skills and a process-oriented approach.
National and some international travel required.
Ability to communicate and gain consensus on solutions at all levels.
Spanish as a secondary language preferred.
