Principal Consultant (Data Protection SME) What you’ll be doing

Works closely with Consulting Engineers and Principal Consultants to deliver services that support company objectives and align with Winning Together values.

Develop as a technical leader in technology solutions by doing the following:

Receive mentoring from Principal Consultants for advancement.

Mentoring other Consulting Engineers.

Lead a team of resources on larger projects.

Review the deliverables of other Engineers, as appropriate.

Act as a point of escalation for Consulting Engineers.

Be regarded as a thought leader by recommending new technologies, best practices, and tools that support the growth of the business.

Assess the customer’s environment and provide design and solution recommendations.

Act as liaison between Pre-Sales and Delivery teams.

Provide design, deployment, and implementation services of single or multi-vendor solutions.

Handle issues escalated by Consultants.

Troubleshoot multi-vendor issues, create remediation plans, and plan execution.

Lead Project teams as assigned.

Be current with vendor offerings and technology.

Achieve and maintain Industry and Partner focused certifications as it relates to your focus area(s).

Be available to meet the customer’s IT needs.

Achievement of individual utilization targets.

Embrace and support Computacenter’s mission and core values.

End-to-end understanding of Data Protection products from Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity, Veeam, Dell, deployment models, and architecture.

Participate in the design and implementation of the Data Protection from Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity, Veeam, and Dell solutions in a customer’s environment.

Provide hands-on training to customers on data protection features from Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity, Veeam, and Dell, including management and maintenance capabilities.

Assist in the development of automation scripts to implement, migrate, and maintain deployed solutions.

Collaborate with customer operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from implementation to production.

What you have

10+ years of implementation experience in large enterprise environments

Recent consulting experience is a significant plus

Commvault Certified Professional (highly preferred)

Rubrik RCIE (Rubrik Certified Implementation Engineer)

DELL EMC Data Protection Partner Certifications preferred

Data Domain

Power Protect Data Manager

Backup Appliance experience

HPE StoreOnce

Exagrid

Compute experience from

Dell PowerEdge

HPE DL series

Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnect and Standalone

Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Subject matter expert within your focused technology stack

Ability to deploy complex multi-technology solutions

Ability to participate in the design of complex technical solutions and provide input into bid, project and technical documents

Ability to function within a large virtual technical team, with good negotiation skills and who is a self-starter.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently.

Experience with Linux and shell scripting (bash/zsh/sh)

Experience in AWS/AZURE/GCP cloud-based backup targets.

Experience with troubleshooting in large, complex environments

Experience and/or understanding of Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, and High-Availability concepts

Experience and/or knowledge of current industry-accepted Backup and Recovery concepts and practices

Demonstrated confidence in leading customer-facing discussions.

Subject matter expertise in Data Protection architecture, deployment models, and integration.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in large, complex environments.

Experience with automation tools and scripting for provisioning and lifecycle management.

Understanding of Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, and Backup/Recovery best practices.
