Opto-Mechanical Design Engineer Location
Sunnyvale, CA Work Schedule
On-site Rate
$60, based on experience. Responsibilities
Excellent communication and documentation skills; CAD experience (Solidworks). 2‑4 years of experience in mechanical or equipment design. Design, develop, and deploy equipment to test, measure, and calibrate vision/optical imaging products (endoscopes, fiber‑optic light sources, near‑eye displays). Equipment used in a production manufacturing environment; must meet performance, safety, ergonomics, reliability, consistency, and capacity requirements. Precision mechanical design skills required; work cross‑functionally to develop custom optical & imaging test equipment. Required Qualifications
Optical Equipment knowledge. Precision Mechanics (good to have); Opto‑Mechanics (bonus). Experience with proprietary in‑house equipment. 2‑4 years of experience (not more than 5 years). SolidWorks, Windchill highly preferred. Supporting existing test fixtures—improving, developing new ones. New development plus supporting/maintaining existing fixtures. University degree minimum; 2‑4 years related experience; advanced degree considered. Manufacturing engineer with Mechanical degree background. Calibration of endoscope (similar to the required testing). Interview: 1st Zoom, onsite technical interview. Required Skills and Experience
Minimum 2‑4 years mechanical, equipment design engineering experience for a medium to high volume product. Strong analytical skills to understand, analyze and improve the accuracy, repeatability, and reliability of measurement equipment. Excellent communication and documentation skills; CAD experience (Solidworks). Required Education and Training
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Opto‑Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or related area. Working Conditions
