Pay Range Base pay range: $89,794.00/yr – $89,794.00/yr
Department Overview The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute is a world leader in treating leukemia. Dr. Brian Druker, a pioneer in precision cancer medicine, directs Beat AML, a major effort to find better treatments for acute myeloid leukemia. Function/Duties of Position The Research Engineer 3 (RE3) will lead design and execution of high-throughput single-cell combinatorial indexing assays to detect rare cancer cell populations. Responsibilities include assay/system architecture, reagent and indexing schema design, automation, instrumentation, process control, data quality engineering, and documentation/compliance. Collaboration with molecular biologists, computational scientists, and clinical collaborators is essential to meet milestones on time in a fast‑paced environment. Some weekend work is required.
Required Qualifications
PhD in Computational Biology or related field OR Master’s Degree in Computational Biology or related field AND 6 years of relevant experience (equivalent combination of bachelor’s and training may be considered)
Experience with at least 3 of the following fields: electrical/optical setup installation, machining, data processing, biochemistry, molecular biology, nanoparticles and material characterization
Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team while being collaborative in resolving problems
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks at one time
Must possess energy and drive to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships
