Associate Director, Social Media
and lead our social media strategy, client relationships, and team development. Horizon Media is a recognized marketing and advertising firm with offices in New York, Los Angeles, and Toronto. What You’ll Do
Relationship Development – 20% Maintain strong cross‑team relationships with Business Solutions, Investment, Traffic, and Operations. Proactively field requests from internal teams and clients, applying industry knowledge to enhance relationships. Act as day‑to‑day client resource to prioritize projects, align media with objectives, and drive business results. Build trust and act as primary resource for junior team members navigating partner and client conversations. Collaborate with senior leadership to identify problems and recommend solutions. Lead larger team projects and initiatives, iterating and improving processes and workflows. Social Media Strategy & Buying Oversight – 25% Oversee RFP creation, partner negotiations, and partner performance reviews. Lead strategic social plan development with Digital & Business Solutions teams. Own and develop POVs around relevant trends, tools, and emerging opportunities within paid social media. Maintain oversight of media plans, objectives, and strategy decks. Manage QA of tracking functionality and creative units. Provide education on best practices and industry insights. Team Development & Management – 25% Manage and develop junior team members, creating growth plans and career goals. Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and training needs assessment. Guide the team in goal setting, project tasks, and timelines. Develop and implement broader team initiatives and goals. Campaign Management & Execution – 5% Oversee junior team campaign buying, from setup to optimization and reporting. Support measurement planning and ensure accurate trafficking and site tagging. Act as main point of escalation for junior team members during execution challenges. Social Media Planning – 10% Create and present media specific documents such as RFPs and media plans. Integrate social insights into overall planning, incorporating data, research, and analytics. Maintain team deliverables calendars. Reporting – 5% Maintain oversight of junior team data analysis and corresponding client feedback. Act as final checkpoint for campaign optimization and pacing. Lead process development with Horizon Analytics to aggregate data and standardize across accounts. Who You Are

5+ years of paid social media experience. Understanding of marketing principles, analytics, and concepts. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience buying ads on Facebook and Instagram; additional platforms preferred. Exposure to advanced targeting and retargeting tactics in social. Comfort owning and managing budget and investment levels in social media. Experience owning the full social strategy process with partners, clients, and stakeholders. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to confidently present and “sell through” ideas internally and to clients. Strong experience navigating cross‑department relationships. Leadership and supervisory experience in developing media professionals. Salary Range
