Job Summary Responsible for the administration and execution of assigned projects in a safe, profitable and timely manner. Often assigned multiple projects of larger contract amounts and complexity, managing work in a manner consistent with standards of quality and integrity. Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers. Participates as requested in business development, estimating, bidding and contract negotiation phases of the projects assigned.

Key Responsibilities

Champions the orderly, timely transition of projects from the estimating phase to the field, including contract review meetings that encompass contract requirements, general conditions, schedules, budgets, subcontracts and purchase order agreements.

Completes close‑out requirements and punch lists in a timely manner, handling warranty callbacks quickly to maintain owner/client relationships.

Coordinates with the Project Superintendent to ensure successful and profitable execution of work, reviewing and monitoring manpower, equipment and material resources.

Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors.

Has overall responsibility for project success, including safety, schedule, profitability, quality and customer satisfaction, and makes personnel decisions that impact the project.

Manages all billings to ensure timely submission of payment applications and collection of payments.

Manages the development of the overall CPM schedule with the Project Superintendent(s) and assures procurement is fully coordinated with the Project Engineer(s). Ensures the project team utilizes the Last Planner System (LPS) to manage all schedules.

Participates in the preparation and review of estimates, adhering to cost control system, equipment requirements and utilization, constructability, formwork, materials, manpower, general conditions, schedule, insurance, etc.

Participates in the business development process, including client contact, relationships, proposals, presentations, and negotiations for selected projects.

Prepares the Monthly Progress Report in coordination with the Superintendent(s) by the 6th of every month, using available reports to manage costs and prepare accurate cost projections.

Reviews and executes all change orders, supplements and cost control budget adjustments.

Verifies agreements are executed with insurance in place prior to any subcontractor starting work onsite.

Minimum Job Requirements

Experience in pre‑construction managing construction projects, with thorough knowledge of contract documents, materials, equipment utilization, scheduling systems, productivity analysis, construction operations and cash flow procedures.

Four‑year construction‑related degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.

Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Ten plus (10+) years’ experience working on large scale projects including heavy civil, highway, bridge/structures.

Physical Requirements

Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (steel‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).

May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.

May stoop, kneel or bend on an occasional basis.

May use telephone, computer system, email or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.

Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.

Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.

Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.

Will interact with people frequently during a shift/work day.

Will lift, push or pull objects on an occasional basis.

Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.
