Being around for nearly 30 years, we have built strong relationships across the country and have a strong pipeline of work ahead. We have a fantastic culture with great people who are willing to learn and grow.
We are looking for a Project Manager to come on board in our downtown Chicago office. This person is expected to travel throughout the Chicagoland area, as well as nationwide. Travel is Monday – Thursday.

Job Details We are seeking a Project Manager who is willing to travel for our steel construction company. The ideal candidate will have just graduated from a construction/engineering program, or have solid background in construction with a proven track record of managing projects from conception through completion. The role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project management, including planning, coordination, execution, and delivery within budget and schedule constraints. This is a permanent position open to candidates with 0-2 years of experience, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to our growth while developing a career in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
Manage projects from initial planning stages to completion, ensuring on‑time and within‑budget delivery.
Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and team members to meet project requirements.
Oversee construction projects from conception to completion.
Review project schedules, estimate costs, and monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
Direct construction workers and subcontractors, selecting tools, materials, and tracking inventory.
Meet contractual conditions, review progress daily, and prepare internal and external reports on job status.
Plan ahead to prevent problems, resolve emerging issues, negotiate terms, draft contracts, and obtain permits and licenses.
Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks, ensuring quality standards and proper construction techniques.
Qualifications
A minimum college degree in construction/civil engineering OR 1-2 years of construction industry experience.
Willing to travel is a must.
Proven ability to manage all aspects of construction projects effectively and efficiently.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time‑management skills.
Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with all staff levels.
Knowledge of building codes, standards of practice, and safety regulations.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage project costs.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management software.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and documentation.
Exceptional customer service skills and ability to build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
