The Technology Resiliency Specialist is responsible for preparing and executing the Technology Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity/Continuity of Operations plans within the Office of Cybersecurity. Collaborate with city departments to plan, design, and test resilience solutions for all critical city systems. Conduct detailed technology risk assessments and business impact analyses. Review completed technology risk and business impact analyses for completeness. Develop resilience reports that identify gaps and provide recommendations. Maintain knowledge of current and emerging IT disaster recovery technologies and resilience solutions. Collaborate with technical engineering teams to understand evolving architectures and plan, design, and test resilience solutions. Review client department technology disaster recovery plans and business continuity/continuity of operations plans and provide recommendations. Develop and maintain business continuity/continuity of operations plans for the department and each division. Design, plan, coordinate, and execute technology resilience tests/exercises with recovery teams for all critical technology systems and applications. Support natural, human‑caused, and technology disasters/emergencies during activations of the Emergency Operations Center/Department Operation Center. Qualifications

Education

– Associate degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a closely related field from an accredited institution OR equivalent total course credits (minimum 60 semester or 90 quarter credits, with at least 20 semester or 30 quarter credits in one of the fields above). Experience

– Three (3) years of experience analyzing, installing, configuring, enhancing, and/or maintaining enterprise network components. Substitution

– Up to two (2) years of experience may substitute for the required degree on a year‑for‑year basis (one year equals 30 semester units or 45 quarter units, with a minimum of 10 semester or 15 quarter units in one of the fields above). Completion of the 1010 Information Systems Trainee Program may also substitute for the required degree. Preferred industry certification in BCP. Ability to work independently. Strong applied communication and presentation skills. Ability to interact with technical, non‑technical, and management staff. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. 2–3 years of experience working in IT system infrastructure disaster recovery and business continuity industry required. Knowledge of current disaster recovery planning techniques and technologies. Experience planning and executing technology recovery testing exercises for applications and related technologies/systems in enterprise data centers and cloud platforms. Experience and demonstrated proficiency in BC/DR program execution, managing process change projects, and knowledge of the disaster recovery program lifecycle. Benefits
