Position Summary
As an executive leader, the Controller will guide strategic financial decisions and oversee the organization’s accounting operations, including Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing & Pricing, Inventory Control, and MZB Group reporting functions. Responsibilities
Lead and develop corporate financial teams to achieve financial goals and objectives. Ensure hedge accounting practices comply with accounting standards. Collaborate with the FP&A group to provide monthly and quarterly operational results. Prepare financial reports to satisfy bank covenant and reporting requirements. Oversee reporting of financial information to MZB Group, including monthly statutory, sales, treasury, green coffee, capital expenditures, coffee shop data, and management reporting data, ensuring consistency between MZB USA and MZB Group systems. Manage ongoing tax and statutory licensing and reporting requirements, including annual tax provision preparation and R&D tax credit documentation. Lead audit and review engagements. Maintain consistency and integrity of financial reporting systems and controls to safeguard assets. Oversee the monthly close and financial reporting process. Ensure financials are presented in accordance with GAAP and IFRS. Provide guidance on accounting treatment of complex business transactions and new pronouncements. Oversee budget and forecast submissions to the Group. Manage operational reporting and analysis across manufacturing, logistics, and inventory control. Lead the annual budget preparation process and subsequent updates to projections and forecasts. Handle annual insurance renewal submissions and ongoing policy activity with insurance broker. Lead, manage, and develop Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing & Pricing, Inventory Control, and MZB Group Reporting departments. Provide management and ad‑hoc reporting, including special project leadership and participation. Act as a positive change agent for the accounting department and MZB‑USA. Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA preferred. CPA or CMA certification required. Minimum seven years’ experience in accounting and finance leadership role, preferably in a consumer product and/or manufacturing/distribution environment. Big Four audit experience at manager level preferred. Dynamic leader with demonstrated ability to motivate and develop staff using a cooperative/interactive management style. Experience with manufacturing cost accounting and product costing. Strong analytical and process management skills; superior verbal and written communication skills.
