Responsibilities
Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineers monitor large computer networks and servers for problems from a central location. They should be able to analyze problems, perform troubleshooting and incident response on the system, communicate with site technicians and track problems through to resolution. When problems are too large or complex for quick troubleshooting, NOC Engineers must escalate the issue to management, other IT resources or 3rd party vendors for assistance in reaching a resolution. NOC Engineers maintain ongoing communication within the team and externally, to keep all stakeholders aware of relevant, known issues and the steps being taken. Server monitoring and able to perform basic troubleshooting and patching of Windows systems Basic knowledge of Control-m or any job scheduling tool. Monitors and executes the daily operational activities needed to manage IT services and the supporting IT infrastructure. Monitor systems.
Using diversified tools, SolarWinds monitors the performance and capabilities of computer systems. Troubleshoot problems.
Working to triage or troubleshoot the issues within their defined areas. Track issues.
Tracking and documenting all defects and resolutions in detail through a designated ticketing system. Report incidents.
Escalating complicated issues to management, other IT resources, third parties and/or vendors, as appropriate.
