Overview
Data Scientist (R, Python, Machine Learning) in Healthcare Domain. Role is responsible for designing, planning, and executing analytical components of plans for research studies that examine the value of pharmaceutical assets or address strategic questions in the disease areas of interest to Client. Apply methodological and analytical expertise to conduct or consult on the analysis of RWE studies. This involves applying statistical theories, methods, and technical programming skills to analyse clinical, survey, claims, and electronic medical record databases. Act as technical subject matter expert on RWE analytics for the assigned therapeutic area, acting as point of contact for analytical needs, mitigating, resolving and triaging issues, and standardizing coding conventions, processes and protocol translations to increase efficiency.
Responsibilities
Lead analytics for the assigned therapeutic area to mitigate, resolve and triage issues and reduce touch points for the study lead. Be responsible for analytical components of reports describing studies, outcomes and methods used, and provide specifications to V&E researchers. Present study results and contribute to writing and publishing scientific presentations. Identify internal and external data resources and external expertise to execute strategies and research activities led by V&E members. Support clinical trial endpoint strategies by executing statistical analysis plans and providing consultation to design as needed. Meet timelines in a complex matrix structure, developing and maintaining cross-functional relationships to ensure effective teamwork and problem solving within the analytical team. Interact with V&E TA scientists and other Analytical team members who perform QC activities on their studies. Translate V&E business needs into RWE project concepts and collaborate with HEOR scientists to develop study protocols.
Requirements
Master\'s degree in Statistics or related discipline required; PhD in statistics or closely related discipline preferred. Minimum 1–2 years\' experience in SAS, SQL programming, R, or Python. Ability to incorporate production code macros in studies; ability to execute programming assignments, troubleshoot issues independently, and present complex research and data clearly to stakeholders. Experience and/or training in applying advanced scientific and analytical methods. Ability to perform urgent analyses with short turnaround times and collaborate with internal and external partners on joint projects. Professional training in a healthcare field; experience in analysis of large medical claims datasets or experience in UNIX/Hadoop environment preferred.
