Director of Nursing (Director of Nursing Services)
Emerald Healthcare invites applications for the Director of Nursing role. Lead and direct nursing services in the Greenhouse model homes at our Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). Start Date: ASAP. Full Time – Exempt Status. Location: Newton, KS. Education
Current, unencumbered RN or LPN license in Kansas. Specific Requirements
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public. Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care. Leadership and supervisory ability; willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel. Ability to organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm; willingness to handle difficult residents. Willingness to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing nursing practices. Relate information concerning a resident’s condition. Assist with CPR. Working Conditions
Work throughout the Nursing Service area (medication rooms, nurses' stations, resident rooms, Green Houses, etc.). Sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during working hours. Subject to frequent interruptions. Involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies under all conditions and circumstances. Subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors. Communicate with the medical staff, nursing personnel and other Department Supervisors. Work beyond normal hours and in other positions temporarily when necessary. Subject to fall, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday. Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, including AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses. Maintain liaison with residents, families, support departments to plan for residents’ needs.
