Administrative responsibilities: Supervise day‑to‑day operations of the clinical lab. Collaborate with clinical staff, leadership, physicians, reference labs, and partners to optimize workflow while maintaining accreditation and licensure. Develop and mentor technical staff, set goals, and maintain high morale. Maintain training and competency files for staff assigned to and rotating in your sections. Assist leadership, review and approve new or revised documents, processes, test methods, and validations. Monthly review of instrument maintenance, decontamination, and compliance forms. Implement and maintain the SOP manual, ensuring accurate written procedures and staff adherence. Investigate non‑conformance events to prevent recurrence. Technical responsibilities: Coordinate and supervise personnel in the technical operations of the clinical laboratory. Ensure technical procedures are performed according to SOPs at the highest quality standards and in a timely manner. Review documents for completeness and schedule staff to ensure uninterrupted operation. Review, report, and investigate all non‑conformance events and completed result reports. Participate in program improvement activities and provide recommendations to improve management decision‑making. Oversee periodic equipment quality control and preventive maintenance procedures; provide bench coverage when needed. Quality/Compliance: Assist the Associate Director and Assistant Manager to guarantee compliance with all accrediting and regulatory organizations, including OSHA, FDA, NYSDOH, Joint Commission, CLIA, etc. Perform audits of the clinical lab operation to ensure compliance with the laboratory’s quality/compliance program, standard operating procedures, and regulatory agencies; communicate findings to the clinical lab Director/management team. Key Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory sciences. 4+ years of proven experience; generalist experience preferred and strong personnel skills. NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required. ASCP preferred. Core Skills

Communication: Compose written correspondence and present information clearly and concisely. Information Management: Communicate, explain, interpret, share, and present information to employees, management, clinical staff, and appropriate external contacts. Time Management: Set priorities among several tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines. Additional Information

Location: MSK Commack, 650 Commack Rd, Commack, NY 11725 Hours: Monday – Friday 8AM – 4PM; On call as needed Reports to: Assistant Manager, Laboratory Medicine Pay Range

$122,800.00 – $196,500.00 annually FSLA Status
