Overview
The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Engagement Manager (EM) to lead the delivery of complex cloud solution projects. In this role you will combine technical expertise with strong project leadership skills to drive successful implementations of AWS-based solutions for our clients. You will bridge business requirements with technical solutions, facilitate technical discussions, and ensure alignment with customer outcomes. Applying AWS frameworks like Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework, you will distill customer needs into clear technical requirements, decompose complex problems, and make informed trade‑off decisions considering performance, scalability, security, and business impact.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage complex cloud migration and implementation projects.
Leverage comprehensive knowledge of AWS services, architectures, and best practices to guide technical decisions and strategic planning.
Bridge business requirements with technical solutions, facilitate engineering discussions, and ensure alignment with customer business outcomes.
Distill customer needs into clear technical requirements and map them to business outcomes.
Decompose complex technical problems into actionable, deliverable solutions.
Contribute to technical documentation and define documentation standards.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years experience in cloud computing.
Experience in project management of technical programs.
3+ years Project Management and Engagement Management experience managing enterprise-level IT projects, responsible for driving results, including hands‑on experience in Agile and implementation of project management tool sets (Confluence, Jira, RallyDev, VersionOne, Taiga, etc.) and source code management products.
Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS experience preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
Strong understanding of AWS services, architectures, and best practices.
Experience applying AWS frameworks like Well‑Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework.
Proven ability to establish technical credibility with engineering teams and senior technical decision‑makers.
Strong presentation and communication skills that effectively convey best practices, project management, and risk mitigation strategies.
Proven success as a project/program manager in complex enterprise environments.
Understanding of technology principles including cloud, infrastructure, applications, and security. Adapts communication style to succeed in team/client relationships and recognizes environmental/cultural nuances. Implements project management best practices across large, complex projects using Agile or Iterative methods.
Security Clearance Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. Candidates must opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
