Position Summary The Clinical Supervisor provides leadership, oversight, and clinical supervision for associate-level clinicians and interns within our counseling and recovery programs. This role ensures high-quality mental health services are delivered in alignment with Advent's mission, professional ethics, and state licensing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual and group clinical supervision to associate-level LMFTs, LCSWs, and trainees in compliance with BBS regulations.
Support, mentor, and guide staff in best practices, case conceptualization, documentation, and treatment planning.
Ensure client care meets legal, ethical, and professional standards of practice.
Review and approve clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Collaborate with program leadership to support staff development, training, and overall quality of care.
Maintain a limited client caseload as needed to support program services.
Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and organizational initiatives.
Promote Advent's values of compassion, integrity, and faith in all clinical practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
Current, active California license
as an LMFT or LCSW (in good standing).
Minimum
2 years post-licensure experience
providing direct clinical services.
Previous experience supervising associates and/or trainees preferred.
Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices for trauma, substance abuse, and family systems.
Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
Ability to integrate professional clinical practice with Advent's Christian mission and values.
Commitment to ethical practice, cultural humility, and supporting clients from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
BBS-approved clinical supervisor training (or willingness to complete within 6 months).
Experience in community mental health, residential treatment, or nonprofit settings.
Familiarity with Medi-Cal documentation and compliance standards.
