Data Warehouse Architect
Our client is seeking a Data Warehouse Architect
to join their company for a 6+ month contract position. The architect will design, build, and optimize a scalable data warehouse solution that supports enterprise-wide analytics and reporting needs. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in SQL Server, ETL processes, and API integration, with a strong preference for experience in financial services or lending environments.
You’ll be instrumental in shaping the data architecture and infrastructure that powers decision-making across the organization, working closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders in a hybrid work environment.
Location: Hybrid in Orange, CA (Onsite initially, then remote)
Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $80-95/hr W2 plus benefits
What You’ll Do:
Architect, design, and implement a scalable and efficient data warehouse that supports business intelligence and analytics.
Build and maintain robust ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources.
Leverage SQL Server for data modeling, performance tuning, and complex querying.
Integrate external and internal data sources via APIs, ensuring data consistency and security.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver actionable insights.
Ensure data quality, governance, and security best practices are applied throughout the data lifecycle.
Optimize the data architecture for performance, scalability, and availability.
Stay current with emerging technologies and make recommendations for improvement.
Support and mentor data engineering team members as needed.
What Gets You the Job:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related field.
Demonstrated success in implementing enterprise data warehouse solutions.
Proven experience in designing and building data warehouses from the ground up.
Strong proficiency in SQL Server, including performance optimization and data modeling.
Deep knowledge of ETL processes and tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Talend, custom Python/SQL-based ETL).
Experience working with RESTful APIs and integrating disparate systems.
Familiarity with AWS data services (Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda, etc.) is a strong plus.
Experience in financial services, banking, or lending industries is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a hybrid work environment.
