POSTION SUMMARY
Housekeeping Assistants play a vital role in upholding the Village’s commitment to hospitality
and teamwork. Working closely with Housekeeping Associates, the Housekeeping Assistant
helps to maintain the welcoming atmosphere of the Village by supporting housekeeping and
laundry tasks. This position ensures that all areas are clean, comfortable, and ready for guests
and staff, contributing to a warm and inviting environment that reflects the Village’s mission of
creating a home away from home for all who visit.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Housekeeping: Ensure that lodges, guest rooms, and program facilities are cleaned
and maintained, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for all guests and
residents. - Laundry: Support the cleanliness and comfort of the Village by washing, drying, and
folding linens, ensuring that fresh and well-prepared linens are always available - Maintain Public Spaces: Lead the cleaning and upkeep of lounges, the dining hall, and
common areas, ensuring they remain inviting and conducive to community
engagement. - Daily Leadership: Run team meetings and oversee housekeeping and laundry
operations when the Community Services Manager is off. - Guest Interaction: Provide friendly and helpful service to guests, addressing
immediate housekeeping or laundry related needs. Contribute to a positive guest
experience. - Manage Supplies: Monitor and restock cleaning and laundry supplies to maintain
consistent service. - Event Prep: Assist in preparing spaces for events, ensuring they are clean and
organized. - Collaborate: Work closely with the team to ensure smooth daily operations and
effective teamwork.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Specific knowledge and skills include but are not limited to the following:
- Strength to lift and carry items through the day.
- The ability to spend 6 hours a day working on your feet.
- Attention to detail and excellent hygiene practices.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
