Job Summary
DeBra‑Kuempel is seeking to fill an Information Technology (IT) Specialist position in our Cincinnati, Ohio location. The IT Support Specialist provides day‑to‑day support as needed to local and remote satellite offices. The successful candidate demonstrates a high level of service, commitment, and execution. The following are required characteristics, knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Exceptional customer service skills, patience, well organized, and a good communicator.
- Expertise in computer software, hardware maintenance, and technical support.
- Experience with repairing, diagnosing, and upgrading PC hardware and basic network troubleshooting.
- Self‑motivated with a high attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to read and interpret communication styles of diverse team members.
- Exceptional ability to follow up on assigned projects and Help Desk tickets.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide level 3 IT support by accessing highest level of technical resources.
- Implement and manage network security as established by EMCOR policy.
- Computer, software, printer, & mobile device inventory, setup, and maintenance.
- Antivirus and patch management and monitoring for computer operating systems.
- Provide basic Active Directory Users & Computers support.
- Provide end user help desk support.
- Provide relevant education and training and create documentation for non‑technical users.
- Work remotely and onsite to perform IT projects and upgrades.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager of IT.
- Attend regular conference calls with EMCOR IT & Security.
- Ensure compliance with EMCOR IT SOPs.
- Asset management.
- Coordinate investigations to resolve information system issues.
- Conduct research to understand, explain and resolve technology issues.
- Communicate updates to users that have been or may be affected by a problem.
- Follow up with users after problems have been resolved.
- Initiate onboarding procedures for new users into the system.
- Ensure response times are quick and effective to appropriately resolve requests.
- Coordinate referrals to technical, professional or service personnel depending on the repair, training, service or software issue.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in computer science, business, telecommunications or related field OR equivalent experience and training.
- Eight (8) plus years of progressive IT experience, including hands‑on experience with Windows desktop and server operating systems, Active Directory and Group Policy, O365.
- Security tools such as EDR, Endpoint Protection, BitLocker, etc.
- Endpoint configuration and vulnerability management tools such as Intune, SCCM, Autopilot, Tanium, etc.
- Working knowledge of large desktop/laptop deployments including design, engineering and support of the desktop, desktop applications, desktop images, encryption, endpoint security and the associated systems of application delivery and group policies.
- Microsoft Windows 10 & 11 Operating Systems Support.
- Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 Operating System Support.
- Microsoft Office 365.
- Microsoft Intune.
- Microsoft Azure.
- Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy.
- DNS/DHCP.
- TCP/IP.
- iPhone, iPad, and Android Support.
- CompTIA A+ Certification.
- Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Certification.
- Vortex or similar endpoint security technology.
- Microsoft SCCM or similar configuration technology.
- Cisco Meraki network technology.
