Overview An established behavioral health organization in Ventura County is seeking a compassionate and adaptable
Behavioral Health Clinician
to join their team in Oxnard. This role will provide direct mental health support to students across two school sites—an elementary school and a middle/high school—serving youth with moderate to severe behavioral and emotional challenges. The clinician will work closely with students, families, and school staff to deliver therapy, crisis intervention, and case management services in a collaborative educational setting.
Key Responsibilities Provide
individual and group therapy
to individuals in accordance with goals and designated service minutes (typically 60 minutes per student per week). Conduct
crisis evaluations
and provide immediate intervention and stabilization when necessary. Deliver
case management
and coordinate care between families, school staff, and external providers. Complete clinical documentation within required timeframes. Maintain communication with parents/guardians, ensuring their involvement in all sessions and treatment planning. Participate in team meetings, professional development, and program initiatives as part of a multidisciplinary school-based team.
Qualifications Required: Current registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an
ACSW, AMFT, or APCC . Experience working with children or adolescents with
moderate to severe mental health needs . Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance. Ability to manage crisis situations calmly and effectively in a school setting. Preferred: Spanish bilingual
strongly preferred but not required. Prior experience in
school-based or community mental health settings . Familiarity with documentation systems.
