– Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center Job Summary : The Site Medical Director (SMD) provides clinical and administrative leadership at a site, supervising provider staff, mentoring clinicians, and leading quality improvement activities. The SMD delivers primary and obstetrical patient care and serves as an informational resource to patients, colleagues, and the community. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Supervise providers at the site and provide clinical leadership and mentoring. Participate as a member of the site’s Management Team to solve clinic problems, resolve personnel issues, implement improvement projects, and meet operational, financial, and quality goals. Attend administrative and quality improvement meetings and organize provider meetings, including minutes. Assist in coordinating provider scheduling, approving time off requests, and monitoring timecard approval. Act as a liaison between the Center and community groups regarding clinical issues and access. Provide direct patient care in accordance with training, experience, and licensure. Provide supervision and education of students and residents. Perform other duties as assigned. HIPAA Requirements
The SMD will access PHI for treatment and quality assurance operations, using the minimum necessary standard of HIPAA. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required
Detail oriented. Knowledgeable or willing to learn continuous quality improvement. Strong commitment to working with patients and staff from diverse backgrounds. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; willing to become competent in Spanish. Education And Experience Required
Current active license to practice medicine in Oregon and DEA registration. At least one year of prior clinical and administrative experience in community medicine as a provider. Behavioral Competencies
