Chief Medical Officer
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will serve as the key executive leading transformation of patient, provider, and community experience to best-in-class for AdventHealth. As a member of the executive cabinet, the CMO will align and engage key clinical and operational leaders on performance improvement and transformative change centered around all aspects of patient, provider, and community experience.
Responsibilities include:
Lead integration to fully optimize hospital services, medical group, professional service agreements, joint ventures, and independent physicians to deliver the highest level of quality and experience.
Provide strategic and operational guidance and executive oversight for business transformation efforts around health system key service lines and procedural volume.
Oversee and integrate clinical service lines, joint ventures, and employed medical group physicians within a matrix reporting structure.
Drive large‑scale change through cross‑functional teams and top‑down transformation initiatives.
Lead development of system wide strategies to streamline ambulatory and clinical service line operations, improving patient experience.
Determine feasibility of new initiatives to improve service quality and patient access.
Collaborate with executive cabinet to evaluate effectiveness of service line operations and optimize patient and provider experience.
Design goals, metrics, and incentives that focus on optimizing patient and provider experience.
Serve as primary executive contact for employed and independent physicians and providers.
Provide leadership for EMR optimization for medical staff.
Collaborate with Medical Staff leadership to monitor provider practice quality and implement focused provider practice evaluation (FPPE) and ongoing provider practice evaluation (OPPE).
Assist Care Management team as physician advisor reviewing admission appropriateness and managing Length of Stay.
Coordinate medical affairs program activities related to provider wellness and engagement.
Lead facility Physician Services executive functions including employed primary care, specialist physicians, and mid‑level providers.
Qualifications:
Proven effectiveness in building and maintaining strong physician relations within hospital, medical group, and independent physicians.
Strong cross‑functional background in clinical and business responsibilities including patient experience, access, operations, and health equity.
Excellent communication skills with ability to inspire and build consensus toward a shared vision.
Thorough knowledge of healthcare industry and evolving evidence‑based healthcare trends.
Demonstrated capability to balance needs of system, local facility, medical group, and independent physician group.
Advanced degree in health services, public health, business administration, or related field is preferred.
Education and Experience Required:
Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
Five to ten years or greater of progressive leadership and management experience in healthcare.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in state.
