Position Highlights

Bringing a friendly voice to connect callers to their destination is an important part of the patient and family centered care provided at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) and Harborview Medical Center (HMC).

Provide prompt courteous service using your excellent communications skills with internal and external customers.

Be a part of a team dedicated to supporting UW Medicine where Patients Are First.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Answer all incoming calls into the main telephone numbers for the medical centers.

Transfer external and internal calls.

Provide visitor information and general customer service reception.

Receive and dispatch all emergency communication calls, including trauma codes, code blue, and other medical emergencies.

Paging services for patients, staff, and medical providers.

Monitor and respond to alarms.

Requirements

High School Diploma, or GED Certificate; AND one year of experience as a Telephone Communications Operator, or equivalent. Six months of additional qualifying experience may substitute for required education.

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to work in a team setting.

Computer skills, including competent keyboard abilities.

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details Pay Range Minimum: $44,100.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum: $54,300.00 annual
