Role Overview The Digital Archivist will oversee the cataloging, digitization, and metadata management of brand’s extensive archive of imagery, videos, press, and design assets. This person will collaborate across departments to ensure that the archive functions as both a creative resource and a digital storytelling tool—informing future brand campaigns, collaborations, and AI-driven projects.
Key Responsibilities
Organize, tag, and preserve all digital and physical archival materials, including photography, video, press clippings, sketches, lookbooks, and campaigns.
Lead the digitization of legacy collections to ensure proper storage, accessibility, and backup.
Help to establish naming conventions, metadata standards, and version control across all assets.
Maintain alignment with the brand’s creative and legal standards for image rights and usage.
Partner with AI Consultant, Design, PR, and E-Commerce teams to provide archival materials that inspire new collections and storytelling.
Support the creation of AI and digital art projects by curating archival data and visual assets that reflect the brand’s creative evolution.
Manage the digital asset management system and ensure seamless integration across internal databases, e-commerce platforms, and content production teams.
Work with IT and creative departments to safeguard archival assets and ensure long-term digital preservation.
Recommend new tools and software for image recognition, tagging automation, and AI-based cataloging.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Library Science, Archival Studies, Information Management, or related field.
3–5 years of experience in digital archiving, preferably in a fashion, media, or art environment.
Proficient in DAM systems (e.g., Canto, or similar), metadata standards, and digital preservation methods.
Strong understanding of image, video, and document file formats.
Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and visual literacy.
Salary $90,000-$100,000
