Consultant - Head of Land Development (OH) Role Summary

The Civil Site Project Engineer will play a key role in the planning, design, and execution of site development projects. Working closely with project managers and multidisciplinary teams, the engineer will be responsible for producing high‑quality design solutions for a range of commercial, residential, and mixed‑use developments. This role offers a clear pathway to leadership opportunities, including project management and client‑facing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technical staff to develop site design solutions that meet client objectives and regulatory requirements.

Lead or support the preparation of design documents including site layouts, grading plans, drainage systems, and utility infrastructure.

Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support stormwater management and flood mitigation strategies.

Assist in the preparation and submission of permit applications and coordinate with regulatory agencies to ensure timely approvals.

Participate in internal design reviews and quality control processes to maintain high standards of deliverables.

Contribute to project scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.

Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Support business development efforts through technical input and client engagement.

Stay current with industry standards, codes, and best practices in civil/site development.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in site development engineering.

Proven experience in designing site layouts, grading and drainage systems, and navigating permitting processes for development projects.

Strong background in road and utility design, including water, sewer, and stormwater systems.

Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools and methodologies.

Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within 6‑12 months.

Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of an organization.
