Area Sales Manager – Mortgage Sales
We are looking for an energetic Area Sales Manager to lead a high‑performing mortgage loan origination team across multiple banking branches. This full‑time role will develop and motivate loan originators and branch managers to drive growth, improve customer service, and achieve business targets.
Key Responsibilities
Scout, recruit, and onboard top‑tier sales talent to build a robust team that excels in loan origination and customer service.
Generate new mortgage loans by fostering relationships and identifying opportunities to expand customer base.
Provide comprehensive training, mentoring, and best‑practice guidance to loan officers and branch managers.
Inspire and motivate staff to reach maximum production levels through effective leadership, recognition, and support.
Monitor performance, communicate clear goals and expectations, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
Cultivate new business opportunities through networking and strategic partnerships to enhance market share and community presence.
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to contribute to overall success of the team and organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, or high school diploma with substantial mortgage business development and team management experience may be considered.
5+ years of leadership experience in mortgage originations, demonstrating a track record of success in driving sales and managing teams.
Strong understanding of business and financial concepts, terminology, and practices.
Exceptional presentation, communication, and negotiation skills, adept at engaging individuals and large audiences.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and solve problems effectively.
Outgoing, professional, and capable of exercising sound judgment in all interactions.
Position requires NMLS registration under the SAFE Act of 2008; employment contingent upon meeting registration and background investigation requirements.
Essential Mental & Physical Requirements
Ability to travel if required.
Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
Ability to read and interpret documents.
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer may be required.
Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 15 pounds if required; accommodations available without undue hardship.
