Department of Human Services is looking for a
Skilled Tradesman Journeyman Plumber
to maintain and improve state-owned facilities in Benton, AR. The position offers a competitive salary range of $52,137 - $77,163 and includes state pension, paid state holidays, and maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities
Perform skilled work in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, welding or painting to maintain state buildings.
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
Maintain and repair tools, machinery, and equipment used in trade-related tasks.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools, as well as heavy equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, or backhoes, depending on the assigned trade.
Maintain accurate records of materials used, work completed, and repairs performed.
Work closely with other trades professionals, contractors, and agency staff to complete projects efficiently.
Provide guidance or training to apprentices or less experienced workers when necessary.
Knowledge & Skills Advanced knowledge and experience in one or more skilled trades, such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, welding, or painting. Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Ability to diagnose issues and execute repairs efficiently. Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
At least two (2) years of experience in one or more skilled trades.
Licensure / Certifications Trade-related certifications (e.g., HVAC certification, journeyman electrician, plumbing license) are required if mandated by the trade.
