We are seeking an experienced CPA/Tax Manager to join our growing financial services firm. This role will lead a small team of tax preparers and be responsible for overseeing the preparation and review of corporate tax returns, as well as providing strategic tax planning for small business owners and their companies. The CPA/Tax Manager will work closely with the Managing Partner and clients to ensure compliance, optimize tax strategies, and deliver exceptional service. Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Return Oversight

Oversee the preparation and review of corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns for small business clients. Ensure all returns are accurate, timely, and compliant with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Identify and resolve complex tax issues, providing guidance to preparers and clients. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations relevant to small businesses. Tax Planning & Advisory Services

Develop and implement strategic tax planning solutions for small business owners to minimize tax liability and support financial growth. Advise clients on the tax implications of business decisions, transactions, and future planning. Collaborate with the Managing Partner to identify opportunities for additional client services and value-added offerings. Supervise, mentor, and provide ongoing training to a team of 2-3 tax preparers. Review team’s work for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to firm standards. Manage workload allocation and deadlines to ensure timely completion of projects. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and client service excellence. Client Engagement

Serve as a primary point of contact for tax clients, building trusted relationships. Communicate complex tax concepts in clear, client-friendly language. Proactively address client questions and concerns, delivering responsive and personalized service. Process Improvement & Technology

Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve accuracy, and enhance efficiency. Leverage tax software and technology tools to improve team productivity and client experience. Ensure all client data and records are securely maintained in compliance with firm and industry standards. Qualifications

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or an Enrolled Agent designation required. Experience

Minimum of 5+ years of tax experience, with a focus on corporate and small business tax returns. At least 2 years of supervisory experience, managing a team of preparers or tax staff. Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations, including corporate and pass-through entities. Technical Skills

Proficiency in tax preparation and accounting software (ProConnect). Strong Excel and reporting skills. Experience working in a remote environment with digital communication tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Slack. Soft Skills

Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting. High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential information. Clear and confident communicator, both verbally and in writing.
