Telecom Design Engineer (Data Centers) Jacobs is hiring a Telecom Design Engineer to work on low voltage systems for data center projects in the United States. Candidates will play a technical role in the entire design process and serve as a specialist on concurrent projects.

Base pay range $85,000.00/yr – $111,525.00/yr

Location Any location in the United States. Ideally near a Jacobs U.S. office, but we intend to hire the best candidates.

Responsibilities

Design and prepare engineering drawings and specifications for low voltage systems (security, fire alarm, voice, data, audio/visual, and other low voltage systems).

Conduct site visits, review technical documents, and integrate owner‑specific installation requirements with site‑specific applications.

Coordinate with other disciplines and clients as necessary to meet project objectives.

Serve as the technical expert on specialized design and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications

Technical or Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.

Four or more years of experience actively designing low voltage and communication systems for buildings.

Familiarity with ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards.

Experience with Revit software.

Self‑motivation to coordinate with other disciplines and clients as needed.

Ideally, credentials as an RCDD or working toward the title.

Electrical Engineering degree or related discipline.
