Flight Software Test Engineer
Overview FLYTE are partnered with a pioneering aerospace company on a mission to transform aviation safety through innovative automation systems, making flight safer, more efficient, and more accessible.
They’re seeking a Flight Software Test Engineer to join the Simulation and Test Systems team, building the infrastructure that enables the development, testing, and deployment of autonomous aircraft software. You’ll work with HITL environments and simulation teams to create automated test frameworks, develop critical tools, and drive verification and validation activities to meet safety and certification requirements.
Responsibilities
Shape verification processes ensuring flight software meets design and performance goals.
Support release and verification for flight test programs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and troubleshoot tests.
Develop automated test cases, tools, and frameworks; enhance HITL testbeds.
Maintain and troubleshoot simulation and test equipment.
Requirements
3+ years’ experience with C++ and Python.
Strong background testing integrated hardware/software or mission-critical systems.
Experience in robotics or safety-critical software.
Skilled in CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Travis CI, etc.).
Proficiency with lab test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
