The Marketing and Communications Department (MarCom) at the University of Lynchburg is seeking a graphic designer who can design and prepare University publications for printing, develop and implement digital design solutions for a variety of on-campus clients that meet University marketing strategies and brand standards, and collaborate with creative professionals to maintain brand consistency across all University communications.
Key Responsibilities
Design and prepare University publications for print.
Create and design materials for print publication and digital collateral.
Work with vendors to provide technical information needed in the bid process and oversee production of printed matter from design idea through to delivery of printed pieces; assess quality of printed materials.
Essential Duties & Equipment
Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Apple Computer.
Adobe Creative Suites (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
Oral or Written Requirements Ability to perform multiple tasks and keep deadlines with minimum supervision. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and campus departments. Good reading and writing skills for responding accurately to inquiries and correspondence with vendors when necessary.
Working Conditions The functions of this position are usually performed sitting, but may involve some amount of time walking. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, or carrying may be required.
Minimum Experience Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Suite, typing, proofreading, knowledge of pre-press and printing procedures and language, familiarity with a variety of printing papers, design skills, office procedures and communication skills.
Minimum Education Bachelor's degree in graphic design or art and related work experience preferred.
