General Understands and communicates the company’s mission, values, and objectives. Assists the GM in providing direction, leadership and communication for all aspects of the site, including financial management, customer service, pet care and team management. Assists in developing and implementing a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with resort and company objectives. Assists in creating a plan to drive and achieve resort quantitative objectives including sales revenue, labor, cost of goods sold and expense management. Communicates concerns and needs first to the General Manager, then to the Market Leader and/or Regional Leader as needed. Maintains operational excellence within the resort. Responds to directives accurately and promptly, ensuring the same level of compliance from the resort team. Recognizes and rewards outstanding performance of resort team members. Demonstrates exceptional leadership behaviors. Other duties as assigned. Business/Financial Management Implements the data-driven resort plan that supports regional and company initiatives to achieve operational excellence and strong business results; follows up to ensure accountability to plans and KPI targets. Plans focus on meeting budget and growth expectations for revenue, labor, expenses and EBITDA. Analyzes financial data and KPIs to optimize performance, address challenges, and identify growth opportunities; utilizes financial tools to review reports and KPIs (e.g., sales leads, conversion rates, average transaction value, customer satisfaction scores) for strategic action. Develops Shift Leads’ understanding of financial reports to enable informed decisions and actions to achieve sales goals and budget adherence. Executes corporate marketing plans and creates local market plans for marketing and sales lead generation. Holds expert knowledge of the resort market area and community; engages the community on the company’s value proposition and offerings. Identifies and cultivates relationships with local businesses, community groups, and referral sources to generate new leads. Leverages digital marketing channels (social media, website, email) to capture and nurture leads effectively. Tracks and analyzes lead generation efforts to optimize strategies and improve conversion rates; ensures team is trained on lead capture techniques during customer interactions. Team Management Responsible for the selection, development and performance of subordinate managers and all other site staff in partnership with the GM. Manages onboarding for new team members and Shift Leads on front- and back-of-house procedures; uses Talent Unleased certification programs for team members. Ensures Shift Leads empower their teams. Directs training programs for all new hires in accordance with brand standards. Coaches, counsels, directs and mentors team members and resort leads; leads execution of company standards through the NVA Pet Resort values to create an excellent customer experience; manages performance through adherence to the Personnel Policy, including timely feedback and corrective actions. Recruits and maintains a pipeline of qualified team members to meet resort needs. Creates a culture of engagement by addressing team member concerns promptly; fosters positive culture and maintains retention through engagement strategies. Customer Service Strives for outstanding resort customer service experiences and maintains excellent service metrics. Ensures adequate shift coverage while adhering to scheduling and labor guidelines. Oversees recruiting, hiring and training to ensure quality of staff in partnership with the GM. Trains resort management teams to resolve service issues and intervenes as needed to ensure customer satisfaction. Motivates and mentors team members to engage customers with product suggestions and sales opportunities, fostering a selling culture. Educates customers and the community about the company’s products and services, promoting sales and brand awareness. Operations Adheres to and has knowledge of all company policies and procedures. Follows OSHA, cash handling and operations procedures; ensures team compliance. Maintains standards for resort maintenance, cleanliness and inventory. Leads 1-2 shifts per week as Manager on Duty and makes staffing decisions based on business needs. Communicates clearly to ensure effective shift operations and overall resort operations. Ensures all team members master resort tasks/positions and meet operating standards. Executes daily audits and enforces checklists and reporting for all departments at shift end. Supports the GM with action plans for hotspot management and resort-level actions. Qualifications
As a Resort Manager with Pet Resorts, you must possess excellent written, verbal and hands-on team management skills. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic animal lover, a brand ambassador with community interest, and committed to personal development and learning in business operations, people development, and revenue growth. You must be able to influence resort direction, drive community outreach through marketing and events, and achieve strong customer satisfaction metrics. Additional requirements for the Resort Manager include: High school degree or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Minimum 2-4 years of customer service experience; leadership experience is a bonus. Availability to work up to 45-50 hours per week including evenings and weekends. Ability to drive and manage/influence workplace change. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS software. Comfortable in front-of-house and back-of-house roles within the resort. Valid Driver’s License, current insurance with comprehensive and collision, and a vehicle for transporting a pet in an emergency. Experience in restaurant, retail, veterinary management/experience or hospitality preferred. Bi-lingual skills a plus. Work Environment and Physical Demands
Move throughout the resort for extended periods (up to 10-12 hours per day). Lift up to 50 lbs and move distances up to 10 feet; balance and move up to 25 lbs up to 50 feet. Ability to work in a loud environment and respond to requests from team members and guests. Perform basic math and understand finances and cost management. Physical ability to bend, stoop, and reach to perform duties related to dog/cat handling, customer service, and cleaning. Present a professional image through dress, demeanor and language.
