Job Description Summary The Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology, is actively recruiting for a Statistical and Research Analyst II. This role will enter and manage data in the Endocrine Surgery clinical databases, assist in drafting and submission of clinical research protocols (to Protocol Review Committee/IRB/etc), assist in data analysis, and assist in drafting/writing/submission of abstracts, manuscripts, and grants.

Job Duties

35% - Collect/enter data into Endocrine Surgery clinical databases.

20% - Assist with clinical studies, including testing of new systems intraoperatively.

20% - Assist in drafting/submission/maintenance of clinical research protocols: applications to MUSC Protocol Review Committee (PRC) and MUSC IRB, PRC and IRB progress reports and renewals.

10% - Update and maintain IRB protocols and research databases.

5% - Assistance with data analysis for clinical research projects.

5% - Assistance with drafting/writing/submission of abstracts, manuscripts, and grants for clinical research projects.

5% - Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Bachelor’s degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, or clinical research preferred. A master’s degree would be helpful. Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software (SATA, SPSS, SAS, etc).

Minimum Requirements A high school diploma and two years work experience as a Statistical and Research Analyst I. A bachelor's degree with mathematics and/or statistics courses may be substituted for the required work experience.

Physical Requirements Continuously 6‑8 hours per shift, frequently 2‑6 hours per shift, infrequently 0‑2 hours per shift. Ability to perform job functions in an upright position, seated position, walking/mobile, indoors, outdoors, confined/cramped spaces, kneeling, bending at waist, squatting, pinching, both hands/arms, repetitive motions, reach, finger dexterity, tactile sensory, lift 15 lbs, vision, hearing, gross and fine motor, dusty areas, etc.
